Do nuptial agreements have a role in inheritance planning? Simon and Hannah write for the Family Law Journal.

Family Partner, Simon Blain and Contentious Trusts and Estates Senior Associate, Hannah Mantle write for the Family Law Journal in an article entitled: Inheritance claims: Looking to the future.

The article considers the effect of the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 on the provision a spouse makes for their widow(er) on death, particularly whether nuptial agreements have a role to play as to the division of assets at that stage.

The article is likely to be of interest to Family solicitors advising on nuptial agreements, and to contentious probate solicitors considering the effect of a nuptial agreement on a potential claim.

The article is available to subscribers here. To find out more about nuptial agreements please click here.

"Forsters was the first firm where I enjoyed the recruitment process. What really put me at ease was the fact that it is partners and senior associates who interviewed me so it has a far more personal feel to it."
