Unmarried couples sleepwalking into difficulties says Jo Edwards

Jo Edwards, Head of Family, was quoted in The Telegraph discussing the unequal rights of and financial pitfalls faced by unmarried couples upon the death of a partner. Jo warned that unmarried couples are "sleepwalking into difficulties" and are often oblivious of their lack of rights until it is too late.  Jo's comments follow on from recent coverage of the case of Siobhan McLaughlin who is appealing the denial to her of bereavement payments following the death of her long-term partner.
